Hello

I was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome 3 years ago. Life has been a struggle. I have always been misunderstood and until recently didn't know why. Now I have an answer and I'm glad. My family is not understanding. They believe in "tough love." I don't. I was never masculine enough for my father. I have always preferred expressing myself through poetry and painting.

I have devoted my life to my feelings. I enjoy nothing more than an open discussion of feelings with friends. I know them better when I know their hearts. My friends are my family. I will be having Thanksgiving with one of them tonight and not with my parents who do not love me enough.

I had a girlfriend once, and her name was Nakeesha. I broke up with her 5 years ago and still think she's pretty awesome. At least with my poetry I can express my feelings about her even if she isn't around anymore.

I have exactly the same issue with my family, amongst others. The best thing I ever did for myself was to leave them far behind.
