Hello I just found this community when I was doing research on my disorder for school. I am not a big of a talker but I like to learn new things. I have overprotective parents that won't let me do anything fun by myself like going to an anime convention. I am 18 years old and I don't have my parents trust. My parents don't fully understand how my life is. They come with me to see the psychatrist but they don't listen to me that much.

Hi,

I am sorry to hear that your parents do not seem to understand you, I will say that in general the people here are quite understanding and accepting people. I hope that you will stick around, make friends and maybe get some of the answers which you seek in life.

I will warn you that if you are expecting a voice from the sky to give you all the answers to the questions which might trouble you right now then it will not happen. But always understand that on WP a range of experts on almost every topic under the sun are present so you can get answers to all manner of questions. Sometimes the hard part in life is knowing what the right question to ask is.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.
