Hi Sarah and welcome to the wrongplanet. From your description of yourself it does sound like you have Asperger's. I went through the same thing in searching for someone to diagnose me. I ended up going to a master social worker with expertise in Asperger's. I knew he knew what to look for in suspected Aspies. He also used two assessment tools on me, and I was clearly in the AS range on both of them. So I walked out of the office with the relief of knowing who I was. I called my wife on the cell phone as I started home and told her, "I have Asperger's." Not everyone wants a formal diagnosis, but I did. Many people feel upset upon learning they are on the autistic spectrum, but I was happy. I am proud to be an Aspie, and I love all the intense interests it has given me. If you pursue your formal diagnosis, and it is determined that you have Asperger's, I hope you see it as a gift. Good luck.
