Finding out that I fit the Aspergers'/multi-talented gifted profiles perfectly was the one drop of _sense_ I've encountered in my 21 year lifespan. I was so afraid that I had Bipolar, NPD, OCD, psychosis. I had some unfortunate experiences with some potent psychedelics taken by accident when I was 15, so I did experience some schizotypalesque symptoms for a few years. They're completely gone now.

Anyway, name's Dana. Nice to meet all of you. I actually get some pleasure out of answering peoples' relationship problem questions. (It's an ego-drive thing and a learned skill, not something that comes naturally. If you PM me with a good question I might answer it (oh goody I'm sure that just made your day)

Hi Dana and welcome to the wrongplanet. I am sure you will find this site interesting and informative. I can relate to your relief. When I was diagnosed with Asperger's I felt this huge sigh of relief---finally, I knew who I was. Enjoy.

It's been a great relief, and I wish it had come earlier. I really could have used this knowledge grades K-12. Would have saved everyone a lot of trouble.

Finding this out about myself has strengthened my resolve to find some way to get motivated and pursue my education in full force. I hope that others can find the same. Such relief.

I'm generally a crybaby, and I've cried at various misdiagnoses - bipolar, severe adhd, mild psychosis. When I learned I was Asperger's, I didn't cry. It just clicked. I spent a day running over my life, like I've done countless times. This time it made complete sense and I don't really feel the need to review my life very much anymore. I'll write important things down but leave the rest of the busy work to my biographer.
