I am new to this cyberworld so go easy on me...I am Sunne Ann (pronounced sun ann). I live in North Carolina; I am an artist, retired pediatric RN, mom to 2 people with AS, divorced, wiccan, crazy and have 5 cats including 3 black cats. I am not active in the wiccan community..it is a more private thing, although I do love to talk about it now and then. I was in the belief that I was bipolar pretty much all of my life; I am on disability for it. Now I realize I am autistic. I have a vibrant and loving family. I love to sew and bead. I am a good contact for sewing questions. I believe that I offer a lot of practical parenting advice on children with differences. Especially...eating problems, temperature regulation, sleeping, homework. I am in search of information that will help smooth the worlds of my teen and my adult child (and myself). I hope to find understanding here. Thanks!

I have to be honest. I posted this new member stuff at the same time a few other people did. I have had one lovely person welcome me. The other people have gotten much more. Have I done something offensive? If so, I deeply apologize. Perhaps I don't belong here? If this is too raw, perhaps so.

sunneann, although my post says it was 10 am when I responded, it was actually close to midnight local time. People not on disability might be in bed by then. This site has people from everywhere - please give your post a whole day so everybody gets a chance to see it before you give up on us. Some of us, like TimTex, LOVE to welcome new members.

I'm sorry you're so disappointed, though

And thanks for calling me lovely :D You seem very nice yourself.

Oh, I just looked at your post again, you're on Eastern Time in the US yourself!

There are some wiccan aspies here, I think. It was one of my interests for a few years and I still remember stuff, I just don't feel up to practicing it anymore (MS). I know of at least 1 member here who was practicing it, and I assume there are more. As far as the sewing goes, Nocternal Quilter might be interested in chatting you up about that stuff and I don't know how many others - I'm all thumbs myself  :)

My 3 kitties any I all agree we'd like you to stay awhile :)

You will not have offended anyone.

A number of newer members have been upset by non-response, but it really does not mean anything around here. Some threads just slip between the cracks. There is currently a thread about exactly this issue on the general forums.

I hope you enjoy your time at WP.

Hi welcome, I am also a mother of 2 and my older son is on the autism spectrum, I am also very creative as many of us on the spectrum are and love to paint, also feel I would have as many cats if it was not the fact my husband does not like cats or maybe aspie's 8O :alien:

Hi Sunne Ann - welcome to WP!

I usually only respond to new member posts that pop up on the main page when I happen to log on. Today I happened to have some extra time & found your post by browsing the new member section. So even though it took a week for me to find your post, my welcome to you is just as enthusiastic as it would have been the day you joined.

Hope to hear much more from you in the time to come!
