Hello everyone.
My name is Khyra, I'm 27, and from the UK.
I haven't been formally diagnosed with AS, but I've been told "off the record" by more than one psychologist that I do. I have a 38 year old cousin who is diagnosed as autistic, and lots of my relatives on that side of the family exhibit autistic traits in varying degrees of severity.
I was, however, officially diagnosed during childhood with an array of conditions that are considered to be co-morbid to AS (OCD, TS, depression, social anxiety, etc). None of these labels really seemed to explain my difficulties; but since being told about AS (about 5 years ago now), I feel as though I finally have an understanding of my thought processes and behavioural differences that once seemed so confusing and unpredictable.
Anyway, there's nothing particularly interesting I can think of to tell you about me. I'm self-employed (selling bits and pieces online), I still live with my parents, 
I have a cat, I quite like rock / alternative music, I like reading and messing about on the Internet... and that's about as fascinating as it gets, LOL.
Oh, I should probably try to explain my choice of username. I chose Disgraceful because I've always felt I'm lacking in grace -- physically and socially. Also, because humiliation seems to be an involuntary part of my daily routine 
(ie: "disgraced").
It's probably too early for me to tell if I'm gonna be a long-term member of this forum, but I'm gonna give it a go and see what happens

i have a similar life story, misdiagnosed with various labels like ocd, depression, social anxiety and various bizarre personality disorders which i think they made up just for me! after learning about AS and getting diagnosed everything started to make more sense. it doesn't make the problems go away, but it does make you feel a bit better knowing. and don't feel bad about living at home, i'm still at home at 34!

and certainly not a 27 year old englishwoman of (despite that syntactically inane opening sentence) her kind of verbal acquity, who yet dare utter explicit request to be handled with care [and in first OWN thread-TITLE!],
and gets away with it.

noobies are not supposed to present such useful second-posting, you are an egg, you are in a kitchen and you are not the aloof or passive type; return to your homework and correct that first sentence, please...
one thing will be promised:

that is a very risk attitude to adopt, for an egg that is,
in a kitchen, when it comes to raising matters culinary
