Hi all. I was active a few years ago but then spent some time away.

I am finally getting around to getting a diagnosis--I am 34, Latina and grew up in a rural Native American town where noone had known about autism. I've had a hard time with sexist and racist psychiatrists who want to pin down diagnosis on me and am convinced that a lot of people with autism spectrum disorders get stuck with other diagnoses and receive horrible treatment as a result. Locked wards for people on the spectrum are nothing short of torture and I'm trying to draw attention to this problem, especially for women and people of color who experience a lot of bias from medical professionals.

i believe white is a colour too
i believe boyz experience much bias too
