Greetings people of wrongplanet!
Ok, here's the short version, i have a fairly mild case of asperger's and as a result of this plus a rather rough trip through the public school system, i have almost no social life. The few friends i have tend to be aspies like me, so i figured this site would be a good way for me to actually communicate with people who know what i'm talking about.

Anyway, nice to be here, i welcome any comments.

Hope to talk to you soon.

Howdy,

I saw a post of yours else where just a little ago.
Very well put and you jumped right into one of the hot spots on WP.
Good for you and sound advice.

Welcome home

Pleased to see you aboard Wrong Planet, aka010101. Really understand about your "rough trip through the public school system."

For my first comment, stop using quotations from Obi-Wan Kenobi. Nothing says "Aspie" like using a line from Star Wars. If you must do this, take my advice and choose the more obscure sci-fi movies to steal scripts from. That way nobody will know.
Secondly, if I were you I wouldn't spend too much time with other Aspies. Don't avoid them, but also don't avoid the NT world. Like it or not you're going to have to live in the NT world for your whole life. So the more you come to terms with them the easier your life will be. For my part, what I've done thoughout my life is find reactions that other people use and copy them. Even lines from old movies work, but NO STAR WARS!. Just plain old memorize what other people do in particular situations. It works really well.

And welcome aboard!

that's so easy said, but it outrages me. i didn't believe that this is so bad. if this topic comes up, everyone takes it 100% natural. how could that be? how can a small sensorial defect cause such deep consequences with such high probability?

mostly due to my weirness causing me to be a REALLY easy target for being picked on early on, which made me withdraw from being social, ect. Not fun x.x.

And mike, the star wars quote was supposed to be recognizeable. That was the whole point.

Hi aka010101. I love Star Wars!

As I don't understand the need to bully at all my theories may mean nothing, but I know my problem was that other kids quickly cottoned on that I believed whatever I was told (what's the point in lying?) and that I wouldn't fight back (fighting was wrong in my world). Not a good combination.

I had a rough trip through the public school system as well - but proud to say I never drank, never smoked a cigarrette, never had unprotected or any kind of intercourse, and never tried drugs. Social stuff at work and with my family gives me immense pleasure but I have been alone my whole and still do not have any friends. In school I was the weirdo who could not talk to anyone and sat in the lunch room alone. I'm gonna keep trying though - so right now I am trying to find some folks with aspergers to befriend me. :)
