Can someone tell me how you can add a quote to appear under every message you post? Do you have to type it in every time or is there an automatic function?

It can be automatic yes out of your own choise. You follow this. Go to:

My account---> edit profile--> below in the list there is a feature called "signature"---> type in your requested quote in the field on the right--> tick yes on "Always attach my signature" --> save profile changes
