I told him about the site here and he might be stopping by soon I hope. He's a wicked cool dood! Not gonna call him by name for anonymity's sake but he's one of the guys who's in the AS group I'm trying to attend regularly.

I've met a few Aspergians IRL, and none of them to my knowlege have joined this site. --Some like interacting via computer, others could care less.

Look at it this way, if statistics are correct and 1 out of 150 people have an ASD, coupled with the fact that the current population of the USA is just over 300 million people, divide 300 million by 150. Divide that by the WP membership rounded off at 25,000, and you'll see that we have significantly less than 1 out of 800 people living in the US on the autistic spectrum as members here. Also consider that many WP members are not US Citizens, and that ratio of people living in the US affected by an ASD who are not members here becomes larger still.

Don't beat yourself up, you can't control anyone else's actions. You told him about this place and have gone the distance to make a connection. That's commendable, not foolish.

I've asked Every aspy I've ever met since my dx to join.
And not one has!

I constantly wonder about the difference between a WPer and a 'regular'
aspy...
