Nice to be in this forum. I am a different kind of person. Not exactly very well understood. Had a life where it seems I was always 10 steps behind everyone else in the Social department. I am pretty smart though.
I try to stay in shape but its a constant struggle with some of the medication I am on which causes weight gain. But I have done a fair enough job of it. I like to run, bike, hike and stuff. I network and play PC games. Like Sci-fi, history and some science. Lots more to me than this. I am a whole colorful world to myself you could say.
I am married with two girls. I had a hard time holding a job when I was younger but I finally held one for about 11 years as a meat cutter until my dad died. I then worked as an electrician's assistant for a few years. After that I went downhill. I always had problems in the work enviroment. I was taken advantage of, intimidated, insulted, usually always took the hardest, dirtiest jobs and worked the days no one else wanted to. Not because I wanted to, but because they knew I would do it, without questioning them.
I suffer from depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. Got my fair share of low self esteem to cream it off.
I am blessed that since all this happened I was able to get disability and also receive payouts from my Employee owned stock investments. I am hoping to have my house payed off this year God willing.
Lately my regular therapists had a car accident and has been off work for a while so I saw another one for several sessions and he is firmly convinced I have Asperger's syndrome. Which once it was fully explained to me what it is I realized that it was very close to what I have experienced my whole life. I don't understand why no one has suggested it until now but I am eager to explore this possible diagnosis and get to know others who suffer from it.
Welcome to WP Todd!
I was diagnosed with adhd and depression before they found out I had AS.
Part of the reason it took so long is because it has only been an official disorder for a few years now.
This may be the reason your only now getting your diagnoses.
People like yourself usually have a lot of other diagnoses before they find out they have AS, so your not alone there.
You joined a great site! I hope you find the help you need.
There are alot of good post's with great info here.
You should start by finding out about sensory issues if you don't know about them yet.
Once I knew about them it explained alot.
Any ways welcome to wrong planet!! !! !
