Good to be here. I've clawed my way out of the worst of a horrible depression, something you all can probably identify with. Someone should coin the term "Heartbreak of Aspergers." See you around.

I'm glad you're feeling better from depression. I was recently suicidal though today was a good day. Welcome to wp!

This is commercial towing vehicle Nostromo out of the Solomons. Registration number: 180 niner 2460 niner. Calling Antarctica Traffic Control. Do you read me? Over.

or are you a Joseph Conrad fan?

Like a seed which was sown seeking the light to grow and fill the world with joy, so to do we sometimes need to dig up from the depths and see the sun.

Welcome! :sunny:

Here is a Nostromo(s) quote.

"Final report of the Commercial Starship Nostromo. Third Officer reporting. The other members of the crew, Kane, Lambert, Parker, Brett, Ash and Captain Dallas are dead, the cargo and ship destroyed. I should reach the frontier in about six weeks. With a little luck, the network will pick me up. This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off."

Best line of the movie right there. That and, "I won't lie to you about your chances but you have my condolences."

Thanks! But i've never read Nostromo, i just like the name. I do love my Lovecraft, though.

"In my dreams I found a little of the beauty I had vainly sought in life, and wandered through old gardens and enchanted woods."

Ooh! and this quote from John Updike about psoriasis, which is like physical Aspergers:

"I am silvery, scaly. Puddles of flakes form wherever I rest my flesh. Lusty, though we are loathsome to love. Keen-sighted, though we hate to look upon ourselves. The name of the disease, spiritually speaking, is Humility."
