Hello,

I'm a 40 year old male and this year have been diagnosed with aspergers along with my 10 year old son. In fact it was investigating my son's condition that lead to my own diagnosis.

We now realize that my now deceased father was almost certainly aspergers too. Although his parents were not and there are no other family that we are aware of.

I'm very glad to now know why I am like I am. But it has also been a time of emotional upheaval. I'm hoping that somehow down the track this new found knowledge will somehow help me cope with day to day life better.

Anyway I look forward to participating on the forums I've been reading them a bit on and off over the past few weeks and am glad to have found a vibrant and active discussion board here :D

Cheers,

FeralAspie

Hey there. If you're looking for information, support and understanding, then you've come to the right place. A lot of people here have been through the exact same thing that you're going through and can offer a lot of insight and advice.

Personally, my story is somewhat opposite to yours... I found out about my Asperger's through suspicion that my father had it. Heh.

Hi and welcome. Again mine is a similar story - my son is autistic and I've recently realised that I'm on the spectrum myself. I also suspect that my dad, uncle and ex are too.
