Hello! :) My name is George and I am new to Wrong Planet, but am excited at the idea of being to communicate with other 'aspies'.

I am an eighteen year old male from Kent, and am currently studying Psychology, English Literature and Film Studies. I want to read Psychology at university, because I feel that it is epecially fascinating from an Asperger point of view. I got the idea of communicating over an internet forum from a book written by Daniel Tammet (a man with synethesia and AS), who said that communication over the internet is 'reassuring' for people on the austic spectrum, because you can use emoticons to express your feelings, and don't have to try to read facial expressions. Daniel's book is called 'Born on a Blue Day' - has anyone read it? :)

I was diagnosed with AS at seven, and feel proud because, although I don't have 'close' friends at school, I have been accepted for who I am by my peers. I have found that the easiest way to live with AS is to see it as a positive thing, and be proud of it - after all there are lots of positive points! I don't feel that it is something to hide away from. For my Film Studies coursework, I have written a short screenplay, attempting to give 'normal' people a look into the facinating world of the 'aspie'.

My current interests are psychology, the Eurovision Song Contest and the computer game The Sims 2. Like I said, I am looking forward to talking online with other aspies. :D
