Hi,
I'm the dad of an 8 year old girl diagnosed with Autism. She is currently being treated by Dr. Mary Megson in Richmond, VA. She is on a Gluten-Free diet and is being chelated.
My wife and I are separated, and the treatment for our daughter has become a major sticking point. While I initially found Dr. Megson, I have found the results to be far less than what we were expecting, and after 5 years, it is difficult to tell what effect the medicine is having over her normal development. As we learn more about Autism, I wonder why we're treating her based on theories that are long since discarded. (Mercury, etc...)
In addition since the separation, my Ex, with Dr. Megson's help increased the number of medications greatly. My daughter took 38 medications a day at one point, many of which were homeopathic in nature. My feelings on homeopathy is that it's total and complete BS.
In particular, I am looking for any information anyone can share regarding Dr. Megson, her theories on Calcium Channelopathy, problems and issues with Hypervitaminosis A, and any information regarding Michael Payne of "Living Well Today" based in Richmond. I want both the good and bad.
Since I am a smoker, Dr. Megson has used her personal theory of Calcium Channelopathy to reason that I do not deserve custody. I have not seen anything peer reviewed on Calcium Channelopathy, and would like more information. In addition, my daughter is taking dangerous levels of Vitamin A, and any evidence that I can use to show the court the dangers of this is most appreciated.
Nice to meet y'all.
