I'm new to the forum. My son, who will be 3 next week, is currently being evaluated for Autism and they are leaning towards Asperger's but they are saying that he may be too young to diagnose. I am trying to learn all I can about what is going on with him. He is my love and my life and I want the best for him.

Welcome.

The best thing any parent can give a kid is love.

Whatever he gets diagnosed with now might not suit him later. Maybe you should wait a few years until he develops a little more before you bother to get him diagnosed with an ASD, unless you want him to get early treatment. That might just mess him up though.

I respect your viewpoint and realize that you are young yourself, but I think that most people know that the earlier ASDs are caught and treated the better the outcome is. I am sorry if you have had a bad experience. Oh, and thanks for the welcome...

Welcome, M2D!

You will surely find plenty of like-minded parents here who want nothing more than the best for the child!

Check out the parents discussion at your earliest convenience! It'll probably be the most helpful thing you'll find for a while!
