Yes, I'm an Electronics Enginerd, specializing in analog circuit design. I actually saw the term 'enginerd' in a graffiti at a technical conference about 15 years ago. I'm 50, living in Maryland, USA, married, no kids. I'm the kid.

I once had an obession with analog electronics, and went as far as to buy several different kits for experimenting with stuff. But I never took to the point of considering making a career out of it. Although back in 1992 when I was junior hish school, that was one of the things I had a desire to become when I got older.

Anyways, speaking of analog electronics, two things I would like to build if I could find the plans for, and have the patience to do...

- An S-video demodulator so I can watch DVDs on a spare computer monitor with out having to use my computer itself.

- A white clip circuit so that the macrovision that my DVD player puts out dosen't reak havoc on the vertical hold on my TV set

Interesting project ideas.

Let me tell you about a possibly easier solution to your second problem. Many DVD players can be hacked! Some can load new software using a data CD. Google "dvd macrovision hack" and you'll get lots of links.

I already looked into hacks for my DVD player (cyberhome CH-DVD-300)

There is a hidden menu for a hack to make the player region free, but nothing for macrovision, and the BIOS is not upgradable.
