Given what we've established, it seems to the only possibly explanation, however unfortunate. Either Alex or MrMark, but I can not see why MrMark would. But my questioning of Alex would seem like motive to me.

I care not, it's back to what it was as long as it stays that way I'm fine.

That does not seem like motive to me. If Alex was like that, you would have been banned, not had your custom rank tinkered with. Tinkering with your custom rank does not seem logical in any circumstance except mischief.

Actually, that is an interesting point. But before I tackle it, I'll make a comment about allegations regarding the income of Alex. Firstly, do you really think he'd be scraping around for a few $15 donations if he was loaded? I doubt it, somehow. Secondly as regard his Facebook entry, his comments about inflating his reported income seem to add up. When in Rome, and all that... a bit like when you send a CV to a potential employer: you're not expected to tell the complete truth! It's expected that you'll embelish it. I suppose a young chap like Alex would naturally do the same somewhere like Facebook. I probably would if I were his age, again. However, considering his now celebrity status, he'll probably need to be more careful in future with that kind of thing.

As for whether Alex actually makes money from WP, I think the donations page makes it clear that donations may help compensate him for his time (or at least I've read that somewhere on the site). I can't see a problem with that. However, your transparency comment is relevant because I would not give money unless I knew exactly where it was going. That's just me, btw, I'm not criticising anyone who has donated. If Alex made available some kind of annual WP financial statement, some may feel more comfortable parting with their money.

You also have to realise that he is a student, as well as a WP founder. He goes to all sorts of talks, and while I do not know about how these talks are funded, because some may be done by NPOs, they may require Alex to cop the expenses himself. This is speculation, mind, 'cos only Alex knows, and asking financial questions is fairly rude, in my experience.

For me, on Myspace, I list my dad's/household income. Mine is closely approximated by zero right now.

If Alex doesn't really make that much, then why does he have it listed in his myspace page? He is sure misleading people.

apparently they think the "income" field on my myspace page is accurate. I thought you were supposed to always put the 100-150k income since its myspace and thats just what people do.

Pardon me, but that’s a little naïve. :) NT advice to me on this issue is to make no reference to income.

hahahaha
its not dead yet
one word China...
though they're barely communists
don't make me whip the masses in a frenzy TSAR Quatermass 8)
wait...no alex is the Tsar...
your just one of the royals

Stand up, all victims of oppression
For the tyrants fear your might
Don't cling so hard to your possessions
For you have nothing, if you have no rights
Let racist ignorance be ended
For respect makes the empires fall
Freedom is merely privilege extended
Unless enjoyed by one and all.

So come brothers and sisters
For the struggle carries on
The Internationale
Unites the world in song
So comrades come rally
For this is the time and place
The international ideal
Unites the human race

Let no one build walls to divide us
Walls of hatred nor walls of stone
Come greet the dawn and stand beside us
We'll live together or we'll die alone
In our world poisoned by exploitation
Those who have taken, now they must give
And end the vanity of nations
We've one but one Earth on which to live

So come brothers and sisters
For the struggle carries on
The Internationale
Unites the world in song
So comrades come rally
For this is the time and place
The international ideal
Unites the human race

And so begins the final drama
In the streets and in the fields
We stand unbowed before their armour
We defy their guns and shields
When we fight, provoked by their aggression
Let us be inspired by life and love
For though they offer us concessions
Change will not come from above.

So come brothers and sisters
For the struggle carries on
The Internationale
Unites the world in song
So comrades come rally
For this is the time and place
The international ideal
Unites the human race

Good. Have you heard of the wonders of percussive therapy on the thinking processes?
