What do you see as being the specific purpose of this site, Mak?

A support site for those affected by ASDs and their friends and family. That entails the freedom to reasonably express one's opinions -and- the responsibility to maintain a safe environment for all which that umbrella covers.

Though as long as we have a certain someone as a mod, thats not going to happen. And its not you i'm referring to, mak the knife.

Sure they do. Sometimes even people who were rightly banned are allowed to come back.

Is that your answer to everything? "If you don't like my rules go away" Its not going solve anything Merle. Deal with the problems at hand. Its quite obvious the way things have been going lately just aren't working, issues can be resolved without just banning people.

Your right man. But the people rightly banned could only come back if one of the mod's didn't have personal issues with them. And they can obviously come back with another profile and just attack autistic people, and stay. But if they question anything to do with the way the site works, or doesn't, they'll be gone.

Well, actually, if they reveal that they've gotten a second user name without prior permission, they will be gone. And if they continue to exhibit they have personal issues with a moderator and insist on pursuing that beyond this community, they will be gone.

Whether or not I have agreed with every decision made, I will support them. Very few get kicked off without adequate warnings and conversations; those that do are usually spammers or the re-emergence of someone there have been previous issues with.

Someone who wants to come back, asks nicely, and is willing to work with the moderators on learning a more appropriate posting style may well be allowed to come back. Even after a ban.

I have heard of this but never understood how it is possible.

How does someone contact a moderator to ask nicely without breaking the rule of creating another account?

You ask nicely, and the mods un-ban you. At least, that's how it worked in my case.

The "contact us" button, as Merle said.

Actually, your logic is incorrect. When people show themselves as not able to remain on this forum, when polite requests are met with laconic answers and no change in behavior and they are banned as per the rules of conduct, then banning does deal with the problem at hand.

Starting your own forum where you can be as you want WP to be is a rational suggestion. It will happen a lot faster than changing WP to suit your rules. Don't you want to be happy?

What happens when 2 mods disagree on how a user should be dealt with? Does it go directly to Alex and he has the final say?
I honestly think that there should be more moderators on WP. I wonder if the Mods function independently of each other or if they are part of a Council of Moderators..

I didn't know there was an aspergia.com and that it was the predecessor of wp.net, interesting.

There was once the suspicion that Mac and Merle were one in the same, although it could be an instance of collective consciousness amongst the moderators which would lead some to reach this type of conlusion.
