You're absolutely right, of course, nobody would go into the trouble and embarrassment of trying to interest and ensure an eminent and voluntary guest speaker to contribute to WP, only to later have him say "not good enough for me", or not answer the email at all, as he sometimes does to suggestions for improvement, callisto.

No, a topic relating to the content and improvement of the site was moved to the relevant forum. The subject related to wrongplanet, not to autism directly. I try to move such posts to the correct home so that they get attention and do not digress from their intended purpose. If you have questions about why something is done, I invite you to ask why before making an assumption.

And I totally agree, members needn't receive a notification when their threads are moved around or where their threads went and ended up. This is a private place, it's not like members own WrongPlanet or are moderators or other important people to expect such pampering, VIP attention. If they wonder why a thread of theirs disappeared and why, they have to request a favor from the moderators to please let them know if possible. Members MUST know their place, and they must learn it the sooner the better for the good sake of all involved.

Hmmm... a good idea in the wrong place.
I've heard that story before somewhere, I just can't place it.

Maybe the answer is to do such interviews on another forum and post a link here.

Anyway, back on topic... (since I found the thread via RSS without giving a toss about where it was located).

It would be nice to hear from some guest speakers I suppose but IMHO, WP is crawling with "Guest Speakers". There are several people on WP (and I won't join some smarty-emu-faced club by naming names), whose words are very important to me.

I listen to (read) most people's posts but when one of those super-people get on, I pay particular attention.

How did they become "guest" speakers - simply by being reliable and true source of information. I don't always agree with them but they cause me to open my eyes and take another look.

While I'm happy to hear from Doctors, I'm not sure to what extent I'd prefer their information over that of other aspies who have lived with the condition all their lives.

I just got two emails from him verifying that two different scholarly researchers may request WP members to join their research projects. This is why I suggested that people with ideas for the forum use the "Contact Us" button and send an email with the idea to Alex.

http://www.wrongplanet.net/forums-search-results.html type in 'Alex' and then put the button in 'posts' and then the drop down arrow for 3 months. There are more, but they are on the moderator's channel.

No censorship; as being a post directly relevant to the site, I moved it intact to the relevant forum where all members and visitors have open access to it. Your attempted use of NT as a pejorative is noted and ignored; while it is not relevant, I am AS while my son is differentiated as HFA. If you have concern or complaint, this forum is open to feedback as are the moderators... one need not resort to attack and insult when opinions differ.
