I'm just curious - did anyone use the "Donate" button? Actually, I'm more than curious, I'm dying to know, I'm one of the people that thought it was such a terrific idea.

Well, my husband hasn't been paid in ages, and the kids' shoes are falling apart. And property tax is due AGAIN. So, no, I haven't. When we've got a stable income, I plan on it, though.

I've been meaning to, of course. Disability income (back problems) doesn't leave much to help. I want to send money to my local animal rescue league also.

I would be happy to work on art & graphics that could be used on items to be sold that would help keep this site running.

Alex can contact me if he would like.

Oh dear. I've given everybody the wrong idea. I wasn't asking you to donate, I was trying to ask if the button was more convenient for those who do. Believe me, I'm on disabilityand I know about sticking to a strict budget.

Yes, I did, and I was put off before by the "send a cheque" thing, so yes, it is a good thing.

As an alternative, how likely would a company packed with aspies and auties be to make money ?

I think that while "aspie land" the country made up of only aspies and related people might never work, it might be possible to make a company with a workforce who mostly are people with autism.

you might want to read the following article

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

Do you have any reason to believe he does not?

My own observations here cause me to believe Alex is forthright and honest.

I personally think that it was a brilliant idea that he put a donate button, but does it update itself or does alex have to update it?

I just tested - the Donate button goes to PayPal and it accepted my $1 donation.

I don't know who does the update.

There are actually two (2) "donate" buttons here. One is that new, yellow one at the top-left of the page where someone can donate any amount of his or her own choosing at any time. The other is the "Support WrongPlanet Awareness" link more over in the center of the page, and that is where a monthly contribution of a specified amont can be selected and arranged. In my own experience with the yellow button at top-left, it seems the running total of the contributions made toward the new server is updated manually.
