I got this e-mail also. Anyone have any idea what it "really" means? Change your passwords!

I got it as well. I changed my password. Do you think the site was really hacked?

what happened was the site control panel was comprimised. The hacker used the sitewide email function so he didn't need to get everyone's email addresses.

I'm currently securing the site right now.

So I am assuming that based off of what you know, there is no immediate danger to the security to our account information?

yes i got the same e-mail as well, prob is i was half asleep and opened the messege so does that mean the hacker now has my e-mail address. i clicked on report and delete for all the good that will do. i thought @ first it was a personal attack on me cose it mentioned "minnie me" which is a degrotary remark for people like me who are dwarfs, i am 4ft 5in short. i am EXTREMELY sensitive regarding my height

I sincerely wish people who do things like this could be found, prosecuted, and locked away--at very least.

I changed my password and also my email address, substituting a "disposable" address for the usual main-account one I normally use.

A lot of email providers including Yahoo! provide a means of making disposable addresses for use in situations where you are not confident about communications, which for me now includes this site. Then if you start receiving noxious email at that address, you simply delete it at the email provider's control panel.

I saw it. I checked it. I deleted it. I didn't bother to look at it. Opening it could've unleashed a virus on my computer.

Actually, others are saying that he blocked responses, so he probably didn't get yours.

I'm glad I use my work e-mail for the site.

I got that email too. Now in hindsight after reading this thread, I kind of appreciate what happened because it taught me a lesson I seem to forget. The reminder is, "misery loves company."

I haven't posted in like a month, and I didn't get the silly spam... Correlation?
But I'm glad to know Alex is right on top of it! 8)
