I change my views on AS from day to day so there's no consistency in my view anyway

Sometimes a lot of topics will resonate with me and other times I think what did I ever think I had in common with people here??

It's how much I want to communicate with others that has altered, not the topics I think

I tend to come and go.

What can I say? Sometimes I feel like a nut, sometimes I don't.

Anyway, I've been tempted to hang it up permanently a few times, usually because there is an influx of whiny people who not only whine constantly, but who are convinced that their problems are so much worse/more profound than anyone else's problems.

Now, everyone's entitled to a good whinge every now and then, but some people take it to a whole new level.

Someone I've gotten to know and grow fond of tends to post only in The Haven but feels the site is negative and depressing overall. The times I don't post are attributable to some days feeling more ADHD than Aspie, not having anything original or supportive to add, or like Dox said, sometimes my mojo is off

I haven't been posting lately because I've been very busy exploring other aspects of myself and frequenting other forums. Also, a lot of the topics frequently discussed here no longer capture my interest. I think I'll be a bit more active these next few days, though, as I try to figure more things out.

I don't know anyone else on the spectrum so I can only speak for myself.

^Please be.

People's perceptions can be so different. I can't think of any reason to leave so far.

I've told two friends about this site and they've both not being interested in it at all. They've seen no reason to join the site, I suppose they just feel comfortable enough in themselves and don't feel they need to talk to or relate with other people on the spectrum.

People stay because WP has helped make them.

Others stay away because they see what the above have become.

I have no idea why anyone else would leave or if they left. I don't know anyone from this site off this site.

Reasons I've thought about leaving is misogyny and just not wanting to bother with people.

Have people used WP to promote themselves for financial and/or social fame?

(I don't pay attention to most threads and whatnot, so I most likely have missed it.)

Reasons that would make me leave, or stay off for a while are things like bad moderator decisions or attitude, flaming or attacking from other members. Mods often don't pick up where members have been out of order.

There is also the element that people come onto WP when they are seeking answers or support. So any times that they don't they might not bother.

Your questions aren't extensive enough (I had to pick the closest option as there wasn't one for mine), but I understand that the list is already long and there had to be a limit.

I go from one extreme to another - I either post a lot or not at all, depending on how available I am to use the site and what mood I'm in and whether there are any topics that interest me.

If you miss certain people why not pm them to see how they are

I noticed you hadn't been around for a little while Nessa, and I was wondering if you were OK - I was in fact going to PM you to check in that you were. Glad to see you back.

Thanks Whirlingmind :)

I get too argumentative sometimes and it's best if I have a break

Also I'm currently anaemic so low energy so it's an effort to do anything lately

Lying in bed listening to the radio has been all I've felt like doing a lot of the time

Regard the OP, no, I do not know any other aspies, that's my vote.

Regarding myself I do feel that I could tick a number of boxes, including negativity, depressing, posts ignored and other: some people seem to just want to vent by arguing with others.

If I do leave I will get someone to vote while on my way out the door.

Personal reason for not being around for several months: I was studying (online course) on top of a full-time job, so I didn't have the time to post. Between the job and the forum of the course, I also had more social interaction than I need, which then quickly gets stressful in itself. The whole thing may well have contributed to a recent meltdown at work

It is true that this site can be depressing, though.
