A legit dating part of the site might be nice for some people here. Maybe something like plenty of fish or match.com but implemented into its own part of the site here. There isn't any good Aspie dating sites around.

Aspie Affection is that legit dating part. Unfortunately the software is outdated like (possibly more than) WP's. Maybe one day it will work properly.

A sports discussion board would be good.

Yeah, I didn't even catch that fnord. Still that is more geared towards people playing their own personal sports like softball and volleyball. I wanted a section to discuss the Nfl and college football.. There are a few threads in there but not many.

How so? There are no restrictions on what to post there, other that it comes under the general headings of health, fitness or sports, and that it does not violate the site rules.

You are free to start new thread on those subjects. Just don't expect much interest in organized sports from the members on this website.

I wonder is there a thread about pocket billiards?

I think somebody else deserves credit for this idea as they mentioned it earlier. A food and recipes/cooking section would be fantastic.

The Health, Fitness, and Sports forum works well enough; but again, there seems to be little to sustain interest in even a single thread about recipes or cooking, so why bother with an entire forum for just one topic?

Health fitness and sports is definately not the same as food cooking and recipes.

Start a thread to test the idea - if they like it, they will come. If they don't come, it demonstrates no requirement for such a forum.
This has been tried at least three times and in each case, the interest faded within a week or so, and posting stopped.
YMMV.

Health fitness and sports is definately not the same as food cooking and recipes.

Without proper nutrition ("Cooking & Recipes"), you can not even have health or fitness; and without these, participation in sports is difficult, if not impossible.

I think you know what he is talking about Fnord but are deliberately choosing to ignore it. I don't get on with lost at the best of times, but please avoid disagreeing simply based on who it is making the suggestion.

What lost is after is a board to talk about sports in, such as European or J-League soccer, American Football, NHL, La Liga, NBA, NASCAR, Eurosport ESPN etc.....
We don't have a board for that, and it's hard to incorporate into an existing board without bloating it out completely.
The same issue exists for Japanese Anime/Manga and the subculture that exists for it. We would be better off having a board to cater to that as well as general sport.

I would like to add, that what good is a site suggestion thread if the general response to almost everything suggested is an apathetic nod to the fact that PHPBB2 is useless, or the fact that it isn't possible because of PHPBB2?

I suggest that threads aren't deleted and are accepted for what they are. A person has got a formal right to post something that is going to affect them and its not up to some 'mod' to sort them out. That's why the potential of a general collaborative response from sane members of the public are ignored, because too many offbeat users are coming and deliberately messing up the whole gist of things.

Threads can be removed for many reasons - for example; duplication of content, spamming, hate posts, the promotion of illegal activities or grossly offensive and other rule breaking content, or occasionally by request of their creator for personal or privacy-related reasons.
