Well I asked because it is possible it had been addressed elsewhere, even with instructions about some sort of new process, but I just can't figure out where it had been posted. And I didn't want to like, rehash a whole conversation if it's already been addressed.

So it made more sense to me to ask if it had been addressed. If there is a more appropriate way to ask that, it would be helpful to know.

Thanks.

I don't think you addressed it inappropriately. I know we're all still waiting, but I think Alex may be doing a lot of work and changing the site? I got an email about it when I queried another problem in email, and got a bulk responder which makes me think there are a lot of current glitches that might be fixed when the site is all updated? I'm just making assumptions, though. I searched all the forums for some guidelines on how to work it and it doesn't seem there are any solutions I can find that way about this new issue.

We may end up having to be patient, but it would be cool to have some idea when to expect a fix.

Also can't edit anything anymore.
Which, I didn't see any announcement about that at all.

I see these as pretty big problems because when people post or when they wrote their signatures they do so under a certain understanding. Changing the rules afterward kind of violates that implicit agreement, which is sort of a big deal.

So, normally sites would turn off signatures until the ability to edit them could come back on.
*shrug*

We're in the process of performing a full database backup so we can test some potential changes in a development environment. In the current configuration, this locks tables until the backup of the individual table is completed (ie. posts, private messages, etc). With that said, the changes are still made, it just takes time as they're queued up until after the backup is completed. As there are tens of millions of entries, this takes an unknown length of time to complete (depending on site load, etc).

When I try to open the "last post" link, I am looped back to my profile and here is no getting forward from there, because my avatar has gone and no new avatar will be accepted.
Otherwise, I have to log on each time, even if I clicked "remember me" three minutes ago. Sometimes it takes several trials to have my logon accepted.
Is that something, that will be repaired?

I just came back to this forum after like a 7 year hiatus. I'm terrified to even see what my signature was back then. I refuse to post it until I can update it. I hope the feature comes back soon!

My new name and location aren't showing up either :(
