Blocked from answering private message

Clicked "send" and got a big screen message with a red circle with a white x cross in the centre with a "Sorry, You Have Been Blocked" text, advising that I can contact the site administrator to find out why I have been blocked (Sigh...) Reluctant to contact Alex as I suspect this is yet another glitch. I don't like people thinking I am ignoring their messages, which I would only very rarely do if a troll PM-ed me, which happily has not yet happened.

sorry, it's a glitch indeed, i get that as well occasionally. I'll e-mail Alex one more time about it.

I have experienced the same thing. I was able to send the person a short PM explaining the problem, but the PM I had written and intended to send was blocked. I suspect some word I used triggered this. As I am not engaging in anything nefarious, I certainly hope this is an unintended development rather than a curtailment of private speech.

i think it has something to do with the content of the message? cloudflare has blocked me from sending PM's and using the moderator tools to send text, and when it's reworded it goes through fine. it can be a real pain to look for wyhat "triggers" it, it's usually something completely random. so unless the message is rather long perhaps trying to reword it could solve the block. annoying.

i have several user's emails, in case i get blocked or the site is down. different contact info doesn't hurt.

Possibly the problem is length. It could also easily be a word triggering the measure. I don't know which it is, and I honestly don't care.

I assume this device/tactic I am running afoul of was implemented to block unprovoked aggression by trolls, rather than an attempt at censorship of even private conversations. Whether the intensity of the trolling warranted this measure, I cannot say. However, this is the only time I have encountered anything like this on a forum, and I'm reasonably sure even autistic people don't require this degree of protection. It is extremely frustrating to be blocked from sending a PM I spent 1.5-2 hours creating, and I cannot be bothered with altering it it a possibly fruitless attempt to have it reach the intended recipient.

Granted, this is coming from one disgruntled and cranky person, and thus won't have much weight. However, I really think this needs to be corrected post haste. I have many other matters to attend to, and having to address this and having the system reject private messages is costing me time and energy I do not have to spare.

i send and receive long messages regularly, for both of us the problem is merely having to solve a less-than-perfect captcha system and then the message sends. when it's incorrect, the entire message is deleted to i strongly urge you to copy it to your clipboard, or to another text system in that case. i know i hate it when i spend hours typing something and then..

sometimes words to end up triggering security measures but true, it's incredibly impractical to try and deconstruct your message to pinpoint it.

Gah, I almost reported your post because the 'Report' button is where the 'Reply' button should be, and is as prominent as the Reply button should be. What the hell has happened here to cause such disarray?

Oh, I try to save what I'm typing on a Wordpad or Notepad file regardless, in case the website or internet go out, or my laptop crashes. But, anyway, no, it's not even giving me THAT courtesy. It's just a very ominous Cloudflare message telling me I have been blocked from the site (in reality, just blocked from that one task) because of some trigger.



I might be able to do it if I tried, honestly. I have a couple of ideas as to what might be blocking the message. However, this was not part of the plan and this angers me, so I refuse to try. Of course, autistic people are notorious for refusing to adapt and being intransigent. *chuckles and grins*



Alex has not responded to this and the issue is still present. So, clearly, it doesn't matter enough. I suppose I will simply have to utilize another method of correspondence and keep use of this site to an absolute minimum.

My problem with PMs is that I can neither send nor receive them.

Ahh, you've arrived. Are you the only one who is doing repairs and improvements to the site? You seem to be overextended based on what I've gathered.

Anyway, I am still having the same problem. So, I screenshotted the image and captured all of the text. My private message contained one instance of profanity (f**k), and contained observations on sexual matters such as porn (female ejaculation was referenced once), sexuality, pedophilia, and age of consent. I removed 'f**k' and that had no effect. I thus believe the security measure was tripped due to the matters I was discussing, though nothing illegal was being discussed or arranged at all.
