I have Internet Explorer and I looked but I don't see that anywhere on here. :-(

I can't find the options for it on Internet Explorer either. Maybe worth asking in the computers forum where the spell-checker is for Internet Explorer? It must have one, it can't be missing something so rudimentary!

I apologise if this has already been mentioned, but some confusion could be avoided if each user's gender were to be displayed in posts.

In principle I like the idea. In practice, however, there are a number of users that don't fall into the traditional male/female brackets.

True. I think that a Transgender or at least an "other" option should be available.

I'd love to see a "who's online" list. It'd be very helpful.

One of the biggest general complaints against WP is negativity.

I see some members, usually young males, who start numerous threads [often more than 2 per day...]espousing the suffering without end of aspies.....

Personally, I see this as negative conditioning, and harmful to autistic members well being

I'm not sure if these are purposely sinister and/or motivated by causing suffering in others.... but that is how it appears to me

Yet, nothing is ever done to censure these degrading threads.

They are like water against rock, persistent and without end, wearing down any self esteem that members may have.... these negative thought forms wearing down hope and possible happiness

I hate how these posters are part of the landscape on WP..... while being a support site, WP also appears to condition members negatively, via these members many and ongoing thread starts....

I'm not allowed to name members, as I will be banned again, for challenging these members negative rhetoric.

And for that fact, this is my last post for now. I cannot sit back and let these members constantly put down and reduce others in such a subtle and covertly suggestive manner.

Ive been exchanging way too many messages a day with a female member and she left the site because of this(met elsewhere) so Ive been thinking about how to deal with the negativity.

In a way its a double-edged sword: You cant expect members to be happy at all times yet you cant let the negativity take over a certain board.

Should we make a limit of negative posts per week? Who decides which posts are acceptable and which are okay?...

Is it possible for a moderator to add in a literature/history section?

Sorry, no - we don't have the tools for that.
Site layout changes such as adding new forums is Alex's decision alone.

Of course - but history indicates there is little urgency to add forums beyond those already present.
That said, I expect he is aware of the many suggestions made here.

But WP is primarily an ASD support/socialising site and those forums aimed at the more popular general interests seem to cope well enough without requiring forums dealing with every conceivable special interest to sprout - and there are many which could be given their own forum, to the extent that WP would become far too confusing.

I was suggesting it because it doesn't quite fit into any other categories.

I don't care so much about thread starts, but about otherwise useful threads being hijacked by members who go off-topic and insult each other.

On a German board (aspies.de), we have a forum named "Controversy". Once a thread goes in such a wrong direction, a moderator splits the thread and puts the off-topic part into "Controversy", where people can insult each other as much as they want (almost), leaving the other members alone and allowing further useful discussion on the original thread.

The following thread has turned into a discussion about how nice it would be to have sub-forums dedicated to arranging local meetups:

Would that be possible?
