Just an update, we're still in the process of setting up the upgrade. I'll have an exact date shortly.

Sorry "The Bridge" has been cancelled :( http://news.moviefone.com/2014/10/21/fx ... he-bridge/. As they say it's part of what has to be expected in that industry. That does not make it easier. Maybe it will find a place online or on Netflix or on a place yet to be invented.

What is this supposed to mean and how does it pertain to the WP upgrade? :?

The program "The Bridge" had an Aspergers character. Alex was a consultant to that program. He taught the actress who played the Aspie character what aspies would do in certain situations etc. It took up a lot of his time and took him away from this site. So maybe with the program now cancelled he will have more time for this sight. He started WP to raise autism awareness and got involved with "The Bridge" for the same reason. So he is probably upset the program has been cancelled. When people job is cancelled people will say they are sorry to that person to console them. That is what this reply was about.

Specifics can really help with communication and expectations, help everyone to be on the same page.
Thank you for this.

Be nice to Alex everyone. I've worked on a fair few migrations myself and know that even know with the best of plans, things do not always go smoothly. I'm really looking forward to the new WP.

Same.
I am in the camp that it's actually doing someone more of a favor to be honestly critical of what they do [though we can only be so from our own perspective, clearly] than to say nothing at all. Being extra "nice" to someone, in the long run, can serve to harm them more so than to comment on what we feel we might actually observe.

I see what you mean, but I actually think at this point that people may be trying to inject humor into what was previously a more tense situation.

My perspective anyway, which is all it can be. :]

Humor and Tension do make a lovely couple, don't you think?

But what I really want to know is who first resurrected the word 'conundrum' from the dead? Now I hear everyone using it.

To seek out new life, to boldly go where no Aspie has gone before..... 8)

The Lab Pet will be happy to be on the new Wrong Planet, hope all goes well with the transition. So much has transpired since the 7 years I've been here, and so many good friends. The Wrong Planet represents autistic culture too, and we've come a long way.

See you on the other side.

I guffawed at that. Then, I stopped laughing, and couldn't decide if it was funny, or if it has really strange implications. I've decided it is both.
:) (so it is not a conundrum.)

Ditto.

Very much so. Humor is a great coping mechanism.

And if James_Ladrang's post referred to your joke, I think that's an over reaction. It was funny and innocent and did not read as a jab at Alex.

I didn't even know it was dead.

I don't remember seeing or hearing it (except in very old books, etc) until last year, on 'The Walking Dead'. But since then I have seen many using it, and lastly by Brett Pitts on 'Between Two Ferns'.

But maybe it was in use regionally, or was kept alive in the halls of academia, and I didn't notice.

Hmmm... Maybe The Walking Dead contributed to making it a trend word then.
