Yes, knowing that you're helping to pay Alex's rent and helping him afford abercrombie and fitch clothing. Also, that you're helping to support Alex's day to day needs. Alex uses wrongplanet to make his living right now, during the financial crisis.

might be nice to see him on the playground once in a while, y'know...putting that "stay-at-home" revenue to work. Maybe updating the site here and there...

Do you guys realize the last time our fearless leader has graced up with his august presence was almost a month ago?

Just saying...

Alex, if you're reading this, I honestly think that if you're collecting a paycheck from the site, you should really do more with the site as far as increase the bandwidth or whatever to allow more users on at the same time and you should take more of an active participatory role in your own forum in which you earn an income - show us where that income goes unless this is your sole source...

I don't believe we've established he makes money off this website. Hosting a web forum can cost a lot of money. Yeah, we know there's add revenue. We don't know how that compares to cost. As for donations and people buying products, we know those are offered, but we don't know how many people do so. And, in the case of the products for sale, what the markup is.

We just don't have the information on how income compares to expenses. And we shouldn't make assumptions either direction.

I think they are banning people to cut down the numbers, so there's not of us to complain about the slow servers.

I just have heard what you've done. Banned people cause you personally don't agree with what they've said. Thats not being a fair mod.

When I first started at the place I work, one of the women there told me about something bad a co-worker had done to her. At least once per week, this woman said things to try to make me dislike this other person...always warning me this person was the type to stab me in the back. Little did she know, I am the type who likes to form my opinions of others based on my own experiences; not to mention being leery and mistrusting of gossipers who talk about others behind their back.

You mean it's not 2 AM word-wide the same time it is here?

Yes, exactly.

Hmmm, I usually find and hear that saying, which I frankly find meaningless, although I wanted to take the oportunity to quote this: "How can someone insult something of which it is not known to exist?" or "How can someone insult something that probably doesn't exist?"

I am aware there are time zones and that 1AM here is not 1AM in Sydney. That's what I'm saying. I just thought there would be more users at around 8PM EST and people would have a harder time logging on then than at 1 or 2AM EST. Y'know? More densely populated, more aspies per capita with computers and whatnot...

the first two years of my being on WP I was secretly grateful for the (in my Pacific Time zone) 10PM nightly back up of the server. When I was on my old system, WP slowed to a crawl and then timed out for most of the hour and I had to pry myself away from WP and go to bed. This saved my job, I have no doubt, because I was pretty addicted back then.

Of course, I am muuuuch better now. . .
