John Best has been here and he has been banned. It would still be a violation to talk bad about them and attack them if they were members here. Tanya Flescher once joined here and people attacked her and they were warned by the mods about the rules here they were violating.

I tried to choose my words carefully. I like it here and don't want to get a mod boot in my behind. All I'm saying is that there is allot of information out there. If any person that made themselves a public figure became one of the 28 thousand members, would that mean we couldn't say their name or discuss information about them?

I would assume yes.

So if John Best or Jenny McCarthy joined, people could be punished for discussing them or their credibility?

Or, for that matter.. Maxine Aston.

Edit: not to say that the person mentioned should be compared to her, just pointing out that if someone has been speaking out publicly, it's kinda necessary to be able to examine whether or not what is being said is accurate. I don't honestly have an opinion on it one way or another, I haven't yet googled Amanda Baggs.. But it seems as though multiple people have concerns about very significant misrepresentation..

Questioning the validity of someone's diagnosis isn't a personal attack.

However, the individual who starts the threads that are deleted does so under a billion and one "sock puppets", and in a way that offers nothing other than posting a single link.

But I have seen in the past about anyone who brings up a topic about Baggs questioning her diagnoses, it gets removed. A member here once questioned her diagnoses and behavior about if it was fake or not and Alex locked it telling him to knock it off. Another member here once made a post about her stating his opinion about her and it got removed and he got upset and felt he was being censored and then he was eventually banned, so he brought the drama over to AFF and that that thread got locked. So it looks like to me we are not to question her so I assume it must be considered a personal attack because there is all that propaganda about her and posting links about it always gets removed. It appears the same person keeps coming back because the link is the same when that person posts it.
If questioning her diagnoses isn't an attack, then the mods wouldn't be removing the threads in the first place.

They can think it's an attack if they wish, but it's not. An attack is personal in nature, like all of the usual juvenile name calling you see on the 'net on forums, i.e., you're a ret*d! Whereas questioning the claims someone makes, isn't an attack on the person, but on the claim itself.

I assume they remove it due to what I said; it's always done by the same person.

I recall another member here bringing up the same subject, and it wasn't removed.

If you're talking about LePetitPrince, it was locked.

Posts attacking and slandering others, whether a member or not, are unacceptable under WP's rules and ToS - pretty straight-forward, as this is a support site and does not support hate speech regardless of the target. There have been instances where individuals not on the spectrum were also attacked and the relevant threads were locked or moved. Discussions about misdiagnosis, changes in condition, trends within diagnosis and the ilk are all valid points of conversation... using them to attack someone is not. Once a post is removed, restarting the conversation is not encouraged - at this point, I am locking this thread until further notice.
