One Aspie cannot represent the whole community...

But I can say, this video had done some good job... to say this video doesn't apply to all Aspies. Lol...

I have to disagree with some of the assessments as it stands when you promote a site that has selective moderation. This is exactly what happens although the person in question clearly doesn't use search because you can find those posts rather easily. In the end wrong planet decides to moderate selectively so any such videos like this can and will happen. In the end it should be a lesson to the individual posters that clearly you can't say everything you want to without repercussions. The quoted comments are very shocking and disgusting and if you allow that that is what people will see not only wrong planet but people with autistics/asperger's will be associated with. To an above poster there is no context where those comments would be ok.

I have left the site for awhile because of the shady moderation and the community at large has become somewhat immature, and behaves like this (hence the shady moderation). I was actually looking to see if by any chance they added a delete account button but obviously they want to get members numbers for sponsorship deals especially if the donations by members falls through. Anyway guess I'll come back in another 6 months or so.

Don't get me wrong I've made some cool friends here and I think Alex has done some great pieces towards the understanding of autism/aspergers. I just took a different path then this site and quite frankly if I wanted politics I would go into politics. I believe in the autistic pride movement in the way that through my life my differences has distinguished me as a person. I wouldn't change asperger's for anything. Have I had trouble relating to my peers? yes I have. Have I had trouble in my personal relationships? yes. In the end though you need to put an approximation on how much of that is my personality, quirks, etc and how much is the perceived problem.

Unfortunately even with that in mind it was hard for me to be a member and watch some of these comments and statements so if anything I hope this video shows people that they can't behave without being judged so if you don't want to be judged based on forum posts that are disgusting don't post the material. We are responsible for how the world sees us so you act like the forum posters yea you will be judged. If you act like a decent human being I'm not saying you won't have the split second judgments but then you change the judgment to match who you are.

Obviously I can see the huge flaw in this guy's logic in assuming all members of WP are hateful based off a few post (and the hypocrisy therein because it is exactly what he is speaking out against). But what I want to know is why I can't find the posts in question. Were they manufactured? I recognize all three of the posters in the screenshots and would not take them for one who would say such things (well I don't exactly remember many details about chimchar.. I think he might have been a bit of a radical.. I can't recall. But the others...) and would like to look at the context within which they were posted.

And of course, for the record I've been very active here over a year and have seen maybe 2 references to "aspergia." This guy makes it sound like some sort of cult.

I would be interested in seeing how a commune of Aspies would function, though. It would be interesting to see how a community of Aspies differs from a community of NT people and whether they're more or less capable of maintaining stability, prosperity and happiness.

its in the video removed from youtube discussion in which the first one is in the page 2 and the other is on page 3 my last post was removed due to excessive profanity, and member provacation apparently. So in other words they didn't like what I said so they removed it. I love that the only profanity was from the original posts that were quoted.

no I quoted the acutal posts that were seen in the video they are from a topic called removed youtube video. After I did so the post showing where they are from was removed due to excessive profanity ( used by the users) and provacation. The videos are probably from the same author.

I love your taste, by the way. I have quite a passion for history and most in particular the era 1850-1950 myself... as well as vampires and the so-called "occult". Do you happen to know any neoromanticist Aspie females in Belgium?!?! Unfortunately women with your taste as incredibly rare, even more among Aspies.

LOL, Valkyrie is because I'm descended from Viking royalty (Harald Fairhair, etc). Sadly I know no one in Belgium. But yes, I'm interested in 1715-1915 so there is some overlap there. I'm more into intellectual/cultural than political history.

Well, let me give you one tip then. "88" is commonly used in Neonazi circles as a reference to "Heil Hitler" because the letter "H" is the 8th letter of the alphabet and therefore "88" equals "HH". It's some code they use that's commonly used all over the net as last part of their nickname to express their affiliation with Neonazi culture. Considering the rest of your nickname is a reference to Nordic mythology and Nazi culture was heavily influenced by Nordic mythology, I wouldn't recommend using such a nickname because people might come to the wrong conclusion that you're a Neonazi skinhead.

Why that particular era? I'm interested in the era 1850-1950 because it was the age of social struggle, the most diverse political ideologies, the most diverse occult societies, a bizarre mixture of science and pseudoscience, the rise of mass propaganda, two world wars, a major economic depression, the romanticist movement, the rise and fall of the British empire and colonialism in general, the early stages of the American century, the early stages of long distant travel, the industrial revolution, etc. It's such a phenomenal age it never ceases to amaze me. In fact, I own a pretty decent private library of books on topics like psychology, sociology, the occult, politics, philosophy, history and various other human sciences, mostly from that particular era (although my oldest book is from the 17th century and the most recent one is from 2009).



Intellectual history is interesting, but I've travelled that path a long time ago. Today, I'm more interested in the human side of history. Today, I'm more interested in the different ways humans regulated their communities and countries throughout history and the effect this had on the common laborer, the intellectual and the local elite. Not only does this help me understand how Western civilisation came to the verge of collapse, it also helps me understand human interactions in general much better, which helps me with coping with my social deficiencies as an Aspies.

Anyway.... I would love to meet a woman with similar interests, but you gals seem so rare. I'm planning to spend the next few months among a bunch of history students in a local student pub. Maybe with a little help from my two best friends (a lesbian couple, both with BPD) and the handful of people they know there, this might work out. What kind of woman better to impress with my book collection and my DVD collection than a woman who's majoring in history and perhaps has some interest in movie history?!?

I'd never heard that thing about 88! O.o That's the year I was born...no, totally opposite of Nazi; my grandfather killed Germans in World War II, and my family's part Native American. If Nazis took over, I'd be killed when they tried to create a master race. Now I'm thinking I need to change it. I've got a fairly Nordic appearance, red hair and green eyes, so no one believes I'm 1/8th Fox (a Native American tribe), and when I'm out with my grandmother, who is 1/2 Fox, people are shocked when they realize we're related because she has the red skin and black hair and everything.

I still live at home, but I have four bookshelves that are completely full of books about all sorts of subjects. Got some on history, some on biology, some on the occult and mythology, lots of fiction as well...I'll have more room for books when I move in with my boyfriend in May. He has a pretty impressive library himself.

I like 1715-1915 because I can see the gradual progression from the old way of doing things to the modern, and it's quite impressive. The Victorian era in particular captures my interest, but after World War I starts my interest wanes a bit.

As for girls, you might want to try joining some sort of group of people who share your interests. Think about where people who are interested in history would go, like maybe the history section in your book store, etc. My boyfriend thought I was a bit annoying at first but we started talking when he realized that I was interested in the same historical and philosophical topics as he was, and that I was smart enough to understand him. He's a genius, so he's low on people who share his interests. Non-autistics who are smart, even if they have lots of friends, want to be able to talk to someone about things like history or math, so you've got that to your advantage.
