I'm having trouble viewing avatars, not just mine but other people as well. I'm getting red x's on a lot of them. Is this due to the server migration?

I have noticed how some peoples avatars have disappeared. They all have X's

Mine has that X because I removed my avatar, and for some reason it shows it that way instead of just not showing one.

(Actually, now that I'm using Firefox, no more red X, but I just checked with Internet Explorer, and, yup, red X still there.)

Does it have to be a .GIF or can I use .jpeg? My .jpg is small (dimensions and file size) but it is acting like it did not upload or was not accepted.

I'm not trying to submit obscure formats like .dib or .rle (from the Windows 3.1 days), or CANON RAW (okay, that format would never be small enough, but you get my point).

EDIT: Looks like WP doesn't like .jpeg. Uploading it as an outdated .gif format fixed things.

WP is happy with .GIF, .PNG and .JPG.

I suspect that WP is silly about .JPEG even though that is the proper extension.
