no, it is just a compaq presario laptop of recent vintage. nothing fancy. just that on WP and some other websites such as amazon.com, the keyboard gets very balky. as i am typing this on wordpad, there is no such balkiness, this is my workaround for the keyboard balkiniss which resumes once i get back onto WP and such.

Have you tried filtering out some of the links inside WP? I find some of the attached content very slow, and prevent loading it with /etc/hosts and find WP much faster.

What "and such" is also balky? If it is every web site then something else is wrong.

it is every website which features data input, in the form of entering fields or posting correspondence or comments, but WP is the worst in this respect, in terms of my keyboard refusing to work 90% of the time.

So it isn't a WP problem.

I would try erasing all the cache and browsing history, particularly the "Form and search history" that holds prompts for text boxes. You will need to retype any login data that the browser usually prompts you with.

It is also possible that some addon is intercepting your browser text entry, so you could try disabling all addons one-by-one.

I've never actually seen any captchas except for registration. You can use captchas with an audio option for people with a disability, which would be highly relevant for WP.
