Yet it always seems to be the same people complaining - regardless of what they're complaining about - while the rest of us adapt and adjust to the way things are and get along just fine.ASPartOfMe wrote:

You are positing conditions beyond which the available evidence will support.ASPartOfMe wrote:

Well, that's just you now, isn't it? Don't get me wrong; I wish you a full and speedy recovery. It's just that you are one person complaining about a minor situation for which a viable solution is available to all.In fact, given the amount of characters allowed in a signature line, it provides more than enough room for a member to fully explain his or her situation, rather than making a single click in a check-box on their profile page.

Another example of where I am different then most people I guess, but more often then not I have found the simplest explanation is only a partial explanation or not the actual explanation at all. I can't understand why so many people are in love with Occam's Razor and use it to imply there is nothing more to discuss.
Thank for your wishes about my health.

Easy - just put in your sig line whatever you want other people to know about you.
For example, I could easily have a sig line that says, "Middle-aged gynotropic cis-male in a committed monogamous relationship with an androtropic cis-woman", instead of what I already have.
Try it, it's easy!
Problem solved.

I *love* -tropic instead of the roughly equivalent -phillic/-philic? Thank you, for a better alternative!

Occam's is a useful tool when making rough, general decisions. It works well to determine which possibility is most *likely*. However, it's only most useful in typical situations. There are plenty of times when the question Occam's is applied to wouldn't be asked if the situation or data points already fit into "typical", & thus Occam's is already invalidated.
