...and you need to understand the situation better before you assume you know best how to handle it. Like I said in the other thread, there's no point to go on about this subject in this way.

IMO, I think WP should keep the members it has and block any new ones from joining. Keep the site with whomever is on it now, it would be fine without any new members joining. Although it is more interesting to have new people. Oh this is hard, a bit more security is needed.

More security would be helpful. At the same time, the mods did a great job of handling this, and quickly. It was a minor annoyance at the most, lasting only a few minutes.

Not allowing new members, while it might help prevent spam, would prevent who knows how many people from benefiting from this site.

I agree with IrishEyes,we need to lock this site to keep spammers and trolls from joining.

Yes, I know. It is just hard when you see people abusing there powers, how one person can make so many feel annoyed. Why don't the just be brave enough to say how they feel, I thought us Aspies are honest. What is honest about that person. :? Well maybe not stop new people from joining, but up the security a tad bit.

BTW, great job Mods on getting that fixed so quick!

Probably the best answer is to
make a couple of admins. Alex
has reasons for not trusting others
with the power, however.

I barely trust myself with mod powers....

Yeah. But the only things that are
really worrisome are pretty damned
drastic. The kinds of stuff where
bringing a backup off tape would
be necessary. I think that there
are a couple of current mods,
yourself included, who wouldn't
be a danger there.

I agree that a co-admin is needed to be able to act quickly when Alex is not here. I think you have to trust or risk losing the site.
However, I do not think this pessimism achieves anything. I do not believe wp is going down. It has survived it before and will survive it again. I would like to think Atomika has at least enough humanity left to not rip away a place that is a lifeline to so many who have done nothing to him.

I believe some of the others forum software is more secure, but sadly, it costs money to get Vbulletin or Invision Power Board. I had few issues with Invision.

I am sure Alex does what he can given that wp is not his whole life. Like the rest of us, he has his own real life out there to live. We are lucky to have this place at all and I think it is too easy to just hone in on the bad parts and totally forget the good at times like this which is very extreme black and white thinking. Don't like the fact that it has flaws like all forums, then go elsewhere, would be my suggestion.

I understand that some people are getting upset about this troll, but really it is of so little consequence to the life of this forum. The guy is so small time I mean c'mon any idiot could do what he is doing it sad.
