I'll ask women for their e-mail addresses and try to get to know them better without any intent of a romantic relationship. What makes you think they intend for this?
Furthermore, why would just women have access to such a symbol?

Yeah. I ahd a new guy start PMing me, and he was obviously pming other people too, because he acted like he had told me things when he didn't. and pretty much off the bat he asked for my number. even when I politely told him that I have a boyfriend, and have no interest in him.

that's interesting; me too i recently ( about 3 weeks ago) had a pm from a newbie who i'd never interacted with on a discussion, asking to make friends, which i completely ignored, have to admit mainly cos of totally not knowing how to respond. i thought it was just inappropriate to ask someone who not even "crossed paths" with in a discussion. A few days later i realised that if i had answered my reply would have been "why?" , so probably just as well didn't, if likely to encourage that kind of approach, which i now realise too is how things happened in the past; me innocently and honestly asking something like "why" in response to out of blue chat ups!!

I met Amanda from a random PM actually. Mind you I was on my WP leave at the time.

I think it's the times we live in - people in general have become very mistrustful of each other's motives.

Yes indeed. It is a well known tactic in custody battles to accuse the father of behaving improperly towards the children.

Yeesh, I may get in trouble. I mean, I LOVE playing with kids, I can really relate to them. I could work at a kindergarten, actually...

From what I've heard, you basically should stay away from any kids you're not the father of if you're a man (even though apparently a third of pedophiles are women). I heard of someone in England walking past a playground, a football was kicked out of the playground, he picked it up, kicked it back towards the kids and said something like 'hi, kids'.... and they started shouting 'pedo, pedo!'

Hasn't anybody heard of the delete key? I mean, if someone send you a pm or an email that you don't recognise, don't read it and delete the smegging thing. That way you can avoid all the hassle from people you think are 'out to get you'. BTW, most men are not only after one thing, it's just this mentality that Germaine Greer and her cronies put into womens' heads when all this Womens Lib crap started off. Female Eunuch, more like Female Nutcase. Because of all this, a lot of men don't know where they stand because of all this angst that feminist groups have spewed onto the general populace. I believe in treating women like women, and that is with respect and kindness, but some of these people would rather be treated like one of the guys, and that logic is totally screwed. Anyway, if you don't want people to try and chat you up or whatever, then do as I said, ignore them.
