Lately topics are still being marked unread for me since new replies when I have clicked on it already. I click on it and then back to the board and the topic is still marked as unread since new replies.

I know what you mean. I have always wondered why there wasn't a food and cooking/preparing section - at least a 'domestic arts' section as a help to members that live on their own.
great idea

Yes a Household sub-forum would be an excellent idea, not just cooking but also basic
home repairs, budgeting and finance.

budgeting! goodness yes! Little things like 'how to balance a check book' and healthy grocery lists.

The monocle works so well as a sign of stoicism because you hold it in place with your facial musculature. You'll drop it if you make faces. :) There are of course models without that problem.

Smilies aren't showing for me and neither is my av on my account page. I'm not sure if it's me or WP :?

I use one, but wrote "never!" the moment I repented posting my comment, I fear it could set off a mass fashion trend,
There's no way I'll lose my identity in a mass of copycats!

As I said, I use one, sometimes I use two =P

The e-mail topic notification is not working for me? I have not seen this problem addressed yet except for my thread earlier and no one has any answers. Also, how did my avatar disappear?

when you go to the upper right hand corner of the forum, click on Account then >Edit Account and then read down the list until you come to

Always notify me of replies: and make sure the radio button is in the 'Yes" position
(Sends an email when someone replies to a topic you have posted in.
This can be changed whenever you post)

Notify on new Private Message by Email: Yes

and then SAVE YOUR CHANGES at the bottom of the list, but not under the Avatar controls.

and that should help. :D

Then go back into edit your Account again
go all the way down to Avatar Control Panel

and you will probably see a big red X under Current Avatar

if you want one from the gallery, chose it there
if you want one from your computer, chose Upload Through Forum Profile
if you want one online use Upload Through Forum Profile and put in the URL.

if you think you set one, but it came up as a Red X, then remember the instructions there
Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 130 pixels, the height no greater than 160 pixels, and the file size no more than 16 KB.

try it, we will all see if it works for you. :D

When I post on my blog I always get an extra private empty post which I have to always delete
There are some people who register only to post their advertisement in their blogs. It would be great if we had a "Report" button so you'd get the information fast and could remove the user.
Thanks :)

The 'blog' feature isn't really a part of administrative WrongPlanet.net. Even when part of the Admin team there was no way to clean out the advertising spam in the blogs or help with blog issues. I agree about a 'report' button, though, however I don't think this obsolete software WP runs on would handle it.

Oh, I see... Thanks for your reply :)

I've not been here for some time but I did know the site had changed.

Logging in posed a problem, which continues. The browser is permanently waiting for content which never arrrives. A W3C check shows a huge number of problems (hundreds). Not looked at CSS.

Clearly I am managing to post, or I will if it works but things are I suspect not quite right.

What if we upgrade the software and yet still have the same layouts and everything, would anything like that be possible or is that just not possible?

Why is editing post time limit?
I like to edit my post because i’m very perfectionistic and sometimes my post is full of bad spelling :(

Because members here have gone back and editing their posts deleting them leaving "...." or smiley faces. It gets annoying when some users do that so Alex put a time limit to the editing.

You have a week to fix your posts after you make them. So just check for spelling and everything. You have a week.
