Indeed, that along with NoScript removes any and all problems with ads for me.

Does anybody else notice slightly buggy behaviour while using Firefox to make a post? E.g. when I click the "quote" button, the result appears at the bottom of the post instead of where the cursor is, if I haven't selected a piece of text. Occasionally, clicking an emoticon has had no result. One time, I hit the space bar and the cursor left the page as it would if I'd hit the tab key. Another time, it was as if the whole keyboard had been disconnected. Nothing really awful, but I was just wondering whether anybody else was getting such things.

You might want to get the add-on "BetterPrivacy" for Firefox......apparently these days deleting all your cookies isn't enough to stop the spies from tracking you. Some sites are putting "supercookies" onto user's computers, which can't be deleted by the normal route. 8O Some users report annoying issues with BP, so be careful.

I only use Firefox and haven't noticed the bugs you mention. However, thankyou for the heads-up about supercookies. I've just been looking into them and will make a post about them in the Computers forum shortly.

I get those stupid acki berry diet ads. I find them, very annoying. I think that I know the right weight, for me. I don't need to be walking around, with my torso looking like a curved, skinny sausage.

I haven't noticed that with quotes, but it definitely happens with the other options (bold and italics). Also, thanks for the heads-up, I will definitely be running Spybot again tonight.

Also thanks for the heads up about Firefox and the bold and italics. I notice it will eliminate the spaces between the italicized words and the rest of the text on one side or the other.
I also notice that if I do something else I haven't figured out yet, the screen will jump and I have posted if I am ready or not.

Merle

PS, thanks for the BetterPrivacy, you wouldn't believe what I had in my cookies!
or, maybe you would!

I too already have the "sexy flat stomach" that they want to sell to me. If I ate their berries then I would probably disappear completely.

Yes I would. Cookies are the work of Satan.

If you mean this one,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cookie ... novella%29
then it's entirely possible.

If you mean the muppet, I doubt it. He's just a mortal creature with poor self-control, and he has demonstrated compassion and remorse by adding his voice to the anti-obesity lobby. I'm quite convinced he never meant any harm.

perhaps the Cookie Monster is just a fabric and wood simulacrum of a mortal creature powered by a puppeteer following a script?

Hmmm......I guess "mortal creature" was the wrong term. :(
But he's definitely not one of those super-beings like Satan....eternal damnation must be a lot worse than having to guard your cookie jar forever.

Is there any ad-blocking software for Google Chrome? I just hate Internet Explorer (who doesn't!) and I'm not very familiar with Mozilla Firefox.
