I don't understand how Hotmail could be the problem, as it was working fine before. Does this mean I have to get a new email account? I already have Hotmail and Yahoo, I don't really want a third one.

Well, I've had repeated issues with hotmail rejecting any email I send from a Gmail account. Yahoo's filters work better, but still had issues with them. Gmail has been the best solution for me, although I've kept some of my legacy accounts elsewhere since people remember those addresses.

I haven't really checked that in a long time but I'm pretty unsure. Have you checked in your Junk E-Mail?
OOOOOR what you COULD try and do is add wrong planet to your contact list on your email address.

[email protected] - Hopefully this should bypass the issue you are having?

I've tried all that and none of it has worked.

I'm going to try with a gmail account.

probably i missed something, but what i have not seen mentioned so far, is the fact that one doesn't really need the email notifications quite so much, if one chooses to use the "view posts since last visit" or "view your posts" links atop the right side of the "wrong planets forum index" page. just my 2-cents' worth.

"View your posts" works sometimes, but there are a lot of times when I watch a thread without posting in it because I don't have anything to contribute but I want to hear what others have to say. There's no good alternative for following these threads unless I start posting a bunch of messages saying "I want to follow this thread but have nothing to say". And I'm not about to do that. Also, the "view posts since last visit" doesn't always work for me, it sometimes comes up as having nothing new even when I've been away for some time.

I'm sad that the "watch" feature no longer works, I used it a lot. :(

use "bump" or "lurking" and it does the same and people will know you are trying to use system as well as you can.

I have had nothing but problems with the 'watch' feature for years. I drop out all the time. I haven't had the 'new posts since your last visit' work for me either. I just figured it was the ancient software.
