Is the new site going to be more mobile-friendly? I often use WP on my phone and it can be a hassle sometimes. Also, will the new layout work well with NoScript?

That looks great and it's about time. TallyMan recently posted a thread about him leaving WP because of the current WP's problems, so I hope that he'll come back for the new WP.

I could tell it will be just from the cleaner look it will have. Will also dump all the annoying side adds I constantly see, that would be a huge speed booster, or is that how you make the $$ need to keep the site going.

Well if you had the Firefox or Google chrome browser you could just download the browser extension known as 'AdBlock plus' or 'Adblock edge' and you would never have to deal with ads again.

I'm not sure I want WP to change. I hope it won't be complicated. Sometimes when a site changes, there's always something on it that I can't do any more but could before. I hope everything will still all be on here.

First of all thank you Alex!

I would also like to suggest a color and logo change. I sometimes surf WP at work, and I fear the site is too recognizable, especially with the words "Wrong Planet" in big letters at the top. It should be a bit more low-key.

The brightness doesn't affect me, in fact I prefer it to be bright, my eyes hate dim lighting.

I sometimes wish it wouldn't say ''Autism'' or ''Asperger's'' on the screen, because if I go on a computer in the public library and go on to this site, I always think that people who walk past are looking at my screen as they walk by to see what I'm doing, and I don't want people to know that I'm looking on an Autism site. I'm very private about it. I know people probably aren't looking at what I'm doing but it's just my paranoia that makes me feel that way.

I am glad to see the update. WP was increasingly an exercise in frustration to use. But I am afraid it is too late for some. Over the two years I have been here I watched the Mods grow increasingly frustrated with their inability to fix the problems that were being identified, and especially the lack of communication and support by you. This is not new and has been going on a long time. The shame is that we are losing some of the best, the folks who really held this place together. No one really cared if you re-engaged or not personally. That was up to you and people have other things in their lives, etc. What was bad was that you did not then delegate the authority to someone who could be engaged and responsive to the Mods/Membership. On the positive side you have provided a place for Autistics to talk, vent, discuss things, and it is likely the best of them. I think everyone is thankful for that.

So my suggestion beyond the update, is to give people under you who will be active on the site, all the authority and capabilities possible to deal with site issues. I think you have to plan for your extended absence this time around. They also may need assistance/training to come up to speed knowledge-wise technically. But after that front load work, it should be more self sufficient.

Well, it's amazing that this place exists at all, considering, truly it seems to be the fruit of an all volunteer altruistic effort of labor.

But the greatest of all things are produced when differing minds come together, to share their experiences of diversity, which is truly the
greatest gift to humankind as is.

And this site, and the new one coming to keep it going, for many more years as is, is certainly worth all the altruistic volunteer effort.

I for one, am one who no longer needs it, as I once again gain my connections and art in real life now.

It truly once is a live saver for me, where there is nowhere else I can go, with all my illnesses, but a virtual reality, with light turned dim on computer monitor, and the saving grace of fingers that can still work well enough, to at least do something in life, while not always constructive, and or productive, something in life, is always better than nothing.

And with that, said, I thank you Alex for your continued efforts, in whatever you muster, as I for one, see all you do as a gift, and something never expected by me.

It's about time, hopefully this will fix all the glitches and the bugs. Too bad we lost Tallyman, hopefully he will come back and continue being a admin here and mod after hearing about this.

Long time coming, glad it is getting down finally. I worried the site would just go offline one day and the whole community would get scrambled, I hope with the future of this site being secured that we can see some old posters who had to many issues with the website return and more new members as well. I appreciate the hard work and look forward to seeing the change.

As far as brightness goes, you can take care of that yourself. Go into your computer's or device's accessibility settings and you can set it to high contrast with black background and white, yellow, and green text. On some devices, you can choose other colors besides these I mentioned. I have my own device set to high contrast and really like it.

Will there be a mobile counterpart to this so I have an easier time accessing this from my iPhone?
