I'm surprised WP doesn't just move to a PhB board :-/ in my experience these have been very reliable.

The whole thing is in the hands of only one person to fix and he no longer seems the least bit interested in it or us.

I get CAPTCHA'd every time I try to reply in the recent 'autism survey please participate' thread in GAD (I think that's how the title goes). After completing the stupid CAPTCHA thing correctly, it takes me on to another one, then another, and then it takes me to an empty post reply box. Luckily I've saved my post in my phone, but it took me so long to write the post, and I am not writing it again. But every time I try to repost it, it does the same thing, so now I've officially given up.

Otherwise, my posts get submitted successfully.

I was here for the last year or so of the old site and now 3+ years or so of this. The old site had many problems but IMHO this version is worse. I have a feeling one day fairly soon there is going to be an outage the system can not recover from. I am surprised it has not happened already.


I have visited other sites with Cloudflare. At most, infrequently you get a check to see that you are not a robot and maybe an additional step of checking all the boxes that are store signs. I can count on one hand the number of times short lived 500 type errors in years of being on the internet. Nothing remotely like this site.



That and also as with any forum we need new members that bring fresh perspectives.

Many "non-Aspie" autistic people have come to this Site recently.

And, in general, the "Non-Aspie" contingent has become more assertive.

I've been getting an error that the site is offline off & on all day. I wait a couple minutes & it comes back & is down again a bit later

Is maintenance being done without our knowledge?

Otherwise, WP screwed up again!

Another outage recently ended lasting from 8 to 9 hours. That is three lengthy outages in less then a week.

I guess the days of WP being a 24 hour service like the vast majority of websites is over. It was nice while it lasted.

Oh. So it wasn't just happening for me.

Just as a matter of interest, I deleted three or four posts in the word games earlier today (before the big outage), and noticed that on each occasion a Cloudflare error message appeared, following which it was impossible to get back into the site for a couple of minutes. It'd be interesting to know whether these 'mini-crashes' were just something which affected my end of the connection, or whether an individual 'delete' action causes a general crash for all users.

As an experiment, I've just deleted another post I made in a word game, and sure enough a mini-crash occurred. Were any other members affected by this (from about 17.23 to 17.25 UK time)?

I was asleep dude so couldn't say. For a while I thought the crashing had something to do with mods editing the site as that was the closest pattern I could see.

I am getting sick of this site going offline. It usually goes offline during early hours when I'm asleep, but this week it's been going offline all morning and not coming back on until the afternoon.

And don't say "you have no life" just because I get pissed off that WP isn't working. Imagine a person who likes a free Sunday newspaper every week then one day their free Sunday newspaper didn't arrive and they get frustrated because they have no newspaper to read. It's the same for WP. I like to check WP every day, although it's usually the same crap like the ongoing thread about goldfish's diet or the "do I have Asperger's?" threads, but, you know, it's still just part of my online life, other than Facebook, which often has the same crap too. But a lot of newspapers have the same crap but a lot of humans still like to have a daily or weekly newspaper.
I DO have a life; I have a job, a relationship, friends, family, shopping, etc. But I'm often travelling on buses so I usually browse about online on my phone, or if I'm in bed or something.

^ I don't have a life, except for the shopping and travelling on buses, so I find it a real pain to be without WP. I use a number of forum-based sites fairly regularly, but none of them can replace this one. Have you seen the prices of Sunday newspapers by the way - I wouldn't buy one....

I am glad I am not alone on this. This happens regularly from Australian end. Every day from 1pm eastern Australian time WP goes offline. Assuming that hit midnight NYC time. It happens every single day! Only works mornings in our time but never in afternoon nor evening.

I have a feeling it got to do with capacity. I have been member of WP since 2008 (under different username due to old email address). I seen it the changes on this site since, and appears now out of control. I have life offline more than being on the internet.

The problem we facing in current generation is young people lack participating with things in reality. They turn their heads to computer screen causing major impacts with technology, environment and society in general.
