Unfair targeting by a Mod

Have you noticed (as I have) that those who complain the most about "censorship" are usually those who seem to engage the most in those "prejudiced political free-for-alls" you mentioned?Come to think of it ... since this is a privately-owned website, censorship of hate speech should never be an issue.

Yeah ... running an on-line day-care center for misfit adults is not my idea of a rewarding experience._________________

... When John Powell casually stated that "Israelis were dancing on the rooftops" after 9/11 it was an acutely painful untruth and nothing could be further from reality ... Antisemitism masks itself carefully behind meticulously selected rhetoric, but nobody is actually fooled.
The subject is brought up by bigots and haters again and again to keep those lies in circulation. Never mind that many reasonable people can see right through them, as long as racist rhetoric is being discussed, those who hate America and/or Israel (exposed and obviated by the lies the haters tell) will keep finding new converts to their way of thinking. Banning them and deleting their propagandist threads may be the only answer._________________

Of course they are the reason that moderators are essential. It's a psychological thing, some people thrive on dischord. Any internet platform decides on it's boundaries, and breechers of these boundaries are chastised by moderators, that's the name of the game. I would be interested to know statistically how many positive contributions, banned or warned members have made in threads other than politics.

WP is a great site for misfits to gather, vent, and disperse in a world that would otherwise reject them.

I got a warning.
The mods really go out of their way to minimize hurt feelings.

Really? That sounds a bit extreme. Leonardo rocks!

Are you suggesting that those who post politics are the only ones who have been warned and banned? And I am assuming you also mean those who post a particular side of politics.

No Ezra, no particular politics, I am curious to know if there is a correlation between banned members and a predisposition for antagonism rather than a once in a while blunder.
I can attest to that. With 4 "Board Warnings" since I first logged on, I'm still here. But many of those who have expressed racism, sexism, and/or open hostility toward other members have joined the ranks of "Those Whose Names Must Not Be Mentioned".
