I think it's a shame a discussion could not happen about it and the sexual predators were not named, but I'm sure they had good reasons not to do this.

It’s a good idea. However, I think a lot of members don’t participate in this forum in particular. It might be good to have a sticky elsewhere, especially in L&D.

Thank you. The mods are acting together on this - I did most of the "creative" work of writing up the post but the message is from all of us. Apologies that it has taken so long - it's been a stressful few weeks for all of us.

The legal advice Alex has received (many years ago) is that we should avoid talking about banned users, and shouldn't make public allegations or insinuations about any individual. This is both to protect WrongPlanet against legal threats and to avoid humiliating individuals - last thing we want is to push someone over the edge. We also don't want to end up with people rallying to an abusive person's defence. Additionally, I do not want to give the impression that this is an issue with one user, and therefore everyone else is fine and trustworthy. The issue is the behaviour, and there may be current WrongPlanet members engaging in this behaviour. If there are, the mods want to know about it so we can stop it.

As I said in the post, anyone who wishes to report concerns about any user should contact the mods, ideally by using the report button, but a PM works if you would prefer something a bit more conversational to begin with.
