The mentioning of poop is not allowed on this forum, right?

As I'd already explained to you about other subjects, the context and detail are important considerations.
I also pointed you to the site rule forbidding "discussion of excretory function", which that post is not.
The mere mention of the word "poop" is not a rule break.

However the post isn't an issue, if an issue at all (what the post is about is not clear) for The Haven so I've removed it on that basis.

Well it will turn into a discussion, being so the thread was created for that purpose.

You seemed to have deleted it though, as I can't get the thread up now. Apologies to the user who created the thread, it's not against him or her personally.

Baseless speculation. It was removed for the reason given above.

I do hope you're not intending to scour threads hunting for occurrences of the word "poop".
That could easily be mistaken as... petulant, n'est-ce pas? :chin:

Oh I thought you meant you just moved it to a different subforum.

No I'm not purposely going around hunting for threads like that, it's just that I get wound up about double standards and I think the same rules should apply to everyone equally.

Once again, mere mention of the word "poop" per se is not a rule break. It's not a double standard to allow that, taking into account the context and detail of its usage.

Any further posts here on this issue will be removed.

How can one tell if a moderator is moderating or if they are dissagreeing with ones oppinion from a personal point of view?

Moderator actions are made clear in the post, usually by use of the scary "mod" tags:

Only you tend to use those tags.

Things can be confusing when not all use the quotes above but what was written looks as if it is an attempt to directly moderate. Don't worry about it. Just was puzzled from.a past event.

Other moderators do too - but I tend to make more moderation-related posts here than others so it can create the impression that only I am using them.

I'm aware of the situation you're querying - the post is simply another member's statement which happens to disagree with yours. Nothing more.

But if you're ever in doubt as to the reason for posting, please ask for clarification on the thread.

No worries. Is all in the past. I kinda retaliated and was puzzled due to confusion. Realize that things can happen and online is limiting. Real life outside is confusing enough when communicating at times! Haha! Might have unintentionally put my foot in it when I met someone I had not seen for years who married someone else I had not seen for a long time and it depends on how they take what I said as words can mean entirely different things to how I said them.

It's fine, don't worry about it.

One way or another, I would make it clear if I was speaking "as a moderator". Generally I wouldn't give a user a "dressing down" in public. If I need to speak to someone individually then I'd use a PM. If I don't think that is necessary then I wouldn't direct a remark at an individual. I would say something like "this is getting off-topic, can we try to stick to the topic at hand?". I would usually use some sort of indicator that I was speaking as a moderator, whether that's

This Thread  seems to be turning into another "Men/Women have it better than Women/Men" thread.

Thanks.
There's little point in leaving another "woe, woe and thrice woe!" frustration thread to continue going downhill - it's been removed.

Could you possibly lock this thread? I wrote it because I felt upset for my aunt and her feelings about my late mum being dismissed, but some people in the thread don't seem to be getting the point and I can't be bothered to keep explaining but the thread keeps being bumped.

Thanks.
