I use Safari, I followed blue_bean's advice and they don't appear anymore. As a reminder, this advice was

I agree with cornflake that they are extremely annoying. As fas as I'm concerned, they had the adverse effect : when I saw a link lead to XXX Ltd. it gave me the motivation NOT to buy anything from XXX who don't respect people by being so intrusive. Now I don't give a damn, thanks to blue_bean's advice.

I find that businessmen abuse : they invade us right into our homes. I am doing a work for a university, I search for information on a site and pop : an add blocks the view. How would they react if we popped in their offices, factories and CA meetings selling them our junk? The only limits that businessmen and marketeers respect are those that are penalized ; morals, ethics and private life mean nothing to them. The only (and I DO mean "only") concept they value is maximum unlimited profit.
