I wish to hell IE would get on the stick and allow for altered display colors as well. :|

i don't like it aesthetically it's too light coloured and.. minimalistic for my taste.
also my eyes have a bad enough time already and this brightness doesn't help.
if we can maybe get a darker skin option that would be great.

maybe the white spots could be filled with user-selectable textures or patterns or colors

Anybody else notice that the diagnosis status is missing from user profiles? I hope they bring that back.

Eh, it's not that bad. I prefer the old setting, but this new one is ok. Like a poster above me said, it needs more color.

As with anything new, it takes a while to get used to it, after which you don't know how you put up with the old settings for so long without complaining.

I like the new look. I find the font easier to read, even if the background is a bit bright. But overall, this is way more easy to navigate. Kudos, Alex, on doing an awesome site and thanks for keeping this place running!

Well thank you everyone who has posted it so far i should say that the title of this post was deliberately provocative. Also i'm aware that change is good for growth it's just that i would like some help in how to find the mobile friendly version?

I have a galaxy s4 just like a previous poster as mentioned and i have PM'd him to find out how he got that option.

Wishing you all well and happy posting.

We can practise being NT now, by lying about our ages again :-) Oh hang on, the age is still in the user profile :-(

Auntblabby, if IE doesn't do colours, why not forsake it and use one of the alternatives?

I just noticed an improvement. If a topic gets moved to a different section, it's still listed under the original section, so you can still find it. At least I think that's new.

That along with diagnosis will be fixed

I am in no rush, Alex. You are probably going without sleep to get the new code working just right. I appreciate it. But, I would support your desire to go more slowly now that the site functions.

So you guys would rather have the oudated, clunky, slow layout rather then this modern, clean and responsive layout?

...I am so irritated at all the responses in this thread...lol

it irritates me that you are irritated..because many answers are based on the brightness of the background and that is a perfectly legitimate comment.

Yeah...

Am I the only one who didn't have speed issues on the old site? I guess I did on my phone, but I hate using the Internet on my phone anyway.

FWIW...

I went to an seminar about Web designing, and this Web site was used as an example as colors you should never use for a forum based Web page. (Old site). It was considered extremely fatiguing to the eyes. Or so says the powers that be...who make money off of seminars lol..

Actually the white is not bleach white, but I can see if you need to pot down the colors, the light blue and white can be overwhelming.

I hate to tell you, many Web sites are getting redone, especially if you make money off of Google ads. The rumor is one criteria of how high you are placed on search engines it -is the page mobile/tablet friendly, and how fast it can load up. The old WP stunk on both accounts. Buggy has hell on the mobile, and took forever to load up.

Mobile and tablets are starting to dictate design, as desktops are shrinking usage wise. I'm guessing on this board, people hang onto what they know and love.

I work for three different clients, and we are in the middle of redesigning their websites to be more tablet/mobile friendly, because their client base is shifting way from desk tops.

The only thing I would like is a darker layout, this one is quite bright.

I concur; the white hurts my eyes, plus, as an autistic, this sudden change of scenery makes me a little uneasy. No offence to Alex who probably put a lot of work into this, but I found the old green and blue to be more familiar and comforting.

I agree. I'm not against upgrade. It's quite important but there must be a way for someone to change those background colours to what we had on the old Site! This is too bright.

I haven't tried the Site on my Note 3 yet.

I don't like the changes, mostly the brightness of the screen. My screen was already on the lowest setting. I don't like having to add another add-on to my browser just to visit this forum because I need to tone down the brightness. I'm extremely annoyed that sites keep on changing to become bright and hellish.
