Yeah. I understand completely, but I'm not sure where it might fit.
My obsession fits well under sports/games, but no-one else is interested
in it. I almost feel that these are beyond what we can handle.
(My emphasis)

You might be right. I started a thread about an obsessions forum a while ago and so did CockneyRebel. It had mixed responses, but the concensus view was generally positive.

I think that the question of having an obsessions forum would justify a new discussion some time, but I'm sorry I dragged this topic slightly off course. (I get a little over-enthusiastic sometimes, lol)

For now though, are we any neared getting the new forums already discussed in this thread?

An anolgy. Ok we robbed the bank, we need to make the get away, let's not split up the loot just yet.

Let the thing settle a little. The Cafe didn't settle in for a while. Time, give it time, let it go into free flow for a while. It will find it's own headings, just by watching the flow.

I just sent this as part of a PM, but it probably is marginally worth saying it here.

Quote:
In-Depth Adult Life Discussion
In-depth intelligent discussion for the older adults who have been living independently. It's recommended that you have the mental maturity of age 28 or older. Physical age is irrelevant as some people never grow up. Topics vary and are not limited to life issues.

I don't think I got into any really "In-Depth" stuff in the Cafe. I did that elsewhere.
I dislike the "Adult" bit - it's just ageist.
I'll say again, "Life Discussion" is waffle.
"intelligent" means I can't be silly.
"older adults" gets more ageist.
"living independently" is a requirement!! !! !
"mental maturity of age 28 or older" is condescending, offensive, oooowwwchhh!! !!
"Physical age is irrelevant" - so why reiterate the age issue over and over and over and over again!! !
"some people never grow up" - I fume.
"Topics vary" - do they, with the tone set (or confounded) this way?
"not limited" - say one thing, contradict it, what on earth is the point.
"life issues" - we never had ANY issues in the cafe. We spoke to each other we understood each other (as far as possible). We communicated.

Rats.

This just annoys me more and more.

Someone (Alex, encouraged by the children who decided they didn't like the Cafe) stole my more than 10% share of the huge Cafe without so much as a "by your leave", and buried it, without trace, under a ton of garbage.

Can I burst into tears now?

Yeah, well, me too, I thought you were subdividing it already. So many new names, had no idea there are so many above what ever this "barrier" title suggests to some, very over whelming to me. Like I said before I thought and thought on it and no way could I come up with a clean break for it. Personaly I would have prefered something a little less, I dunno, for lack of a better word, open, little more user friendly. I think we'll see some that just haven't found a niche to carve out yet. Like me shopping for a coffee maker. I always look for the one that is just exactly what I want, guess what, they don't make those, lol. Well anyhoo, get in there and carve out a little niche or as many as you like. Ain't freedom nice? 8)

Freedom...it's the best thing! hehehe. I hope eventually that everyone finds a place where they feel comfortable. Which reminds me...
there's somewhere else I should be right now. :)

another word for
nothing left to lose?
