I'm sure some of the people he PM'd would be delighted to post the PMs he sent them without solicitation, if that's relevant.

Great way to get people involved the way you don't want them to be: Bug them to take your side, even when they don't want to take sides, till they become convinced that you, not the person you're attacking, are completely irrational and off your rocker.

Sending a private message does not constitute harassment; content, context and continuation after a request to stop would be parts of that. Something to consider before we start hefting terms around.

that is basically exactly what has taken place

I've got several PMs from pikachu that have harrassing content, context, and continuation after requests (plural) to stop. After a "no, I won't PM you" publicly in channel.

seriously I am thinking of taking this thread off my watchlist now. This thread has gone from a good serious discussion to an exchange of discussion mixed with many flames which is unnecessary. All we need is to calmly discuss what is going on, and fix it. We don't need to fight with each other and get uncivilized.

I don't attend the wrong planet chat room much anymore, however I believe that we should have a new structure for the operators there. We should have democratic system in which a President operator is elected, and then that operator will staff the room with further operators. I don't know what system we're using currently however what ever it is it apparently is not working well.
