Those were fun - unfortunately they went AWOL during the site update of 2014.

That doesn't need a new forum because suitable spaces already exist.

Make hobby/special interest threads as required in any of Random Discussion | Members Only | Art, Writing, and Music | Computers, Math, Science, and Technology as appropriate.

Think that is the problem. Too much choice! Hard to decide. :D

this is not entirely urgent or needed

on a few of the other forums i visit, i receive notifications if someone quotes me in a thread. and as far as i know, it doesn't happen here. like an onsite notification area

i find it incredibly useful as a fail safe to make sure i don't unintentionally ignore other users.

is it possible here?

I'd also like to see that type of a section.

Maybe it's been suggested before in this 56-page thread. But, I sometimes read something great here, a post or a reply, that I'd like to show support but I have nothing of value to add to it. For that reason I suggest some kind of a "like"-button.

Sorry - not directly, no. The site runs pretty much as it is with no development planned or, probably, likely.

But if someone posts to a thread you've already posted to, or subscribed to, you'll receive an alert (if enabled in your profile) that a new post has been made to the thread.
It may or may not include a quote of something you'd said.

It has, but as above - no site development is planned.

But people do sometimes post "+1" in response to a post they like which achieves the same thing or even better, say that you agree with it/appreciate it.

Thanks mate, I wasn't aware that notifications had to be enabled in account settings.

No problem - it's in My Account | Board Preferences | Edit posting defaults.

Or, if it's not enabled there, you can select the "Notify me when a reply is posted" checkbox below each post edit window before it's submitted, on a per-post basis. This might be a more useful way of doing it.

An alert is sent only for the first response to a thread - no more will be sent for that thread until you visit it.
The alert email will include a direct link to the response.

You might like to also enable the option "Notify me on new private messages" in My Account | Board Preferences | Edit Global Settings.

I think that an Email should be sent to all of the old members that haven't been banned to signify that this is the 20th Anniversary of WrongPlanet.

That would be spamming.

A way to chat with your friends who are online.

The chat sites for people with autism aren't great.

Adding an option to change a username once

Sometimes the worst usernames are chosen at start

I wish there would be a donation drive to fund hiring someone to perform much needed upgrades as well as swiching to a new hosting provider that does not use cr@pflare.

Perhaps it would be usefull to have some guidelines(not rules) about how many threads can be started by a member in one section in a short amount of time. Checking the Other Psychological Conditions section I notice literally half the threads on the front page have been started by the same member & most have very few if any replies. I understand they're experiencing a hard time & trying to understand & figure themselves out but I'm wondering if other members could be discuraged from posting & going there.
