Err, I didn't see anything about it in the TOS..
I've seen several identical posts copied and pasted into different sections on here. Is this something that is acceptable to do if the topic doesn't get much of a response in the section in which it was originally posted, or were these multiple posts of the same thing against the rules?

Hmmm...I imagine a mod might be along shortly to cross post the section of the posting rules which state cross posting is not allowed. :D
